Η Emfasis Foundation είναι... Συνεργασίες / is... Synergies

Όταν φτιάξαμε την Ομάδα Δημιουργικής Έκφρασης για τα παιδιά του Κέντρου Π.Αρρούπε (Κέντρο για παιδιά από διάφορες χώρες, με κοινωνικοοικονομικά προβλήματα)  σκοπός μας ήταν να αναδείξουμε τις δεξιότητες αυτών των παιδιών και να τους δώσουμε τα ερεθίσματα μέσα από το διαδραστικό παιχνίδι, τη λεκτική και μη λεκτική επικοινωνία για να αρχίσουν να παρακάμπτουν τις αδυναμίες τους και να εξελίσσονται σε ψυχοκοινωνικό επίπεδο. 
Όχι δεν είναι εύκολο.. γιατί αυτά τα παιδιά στην καθημερινότητα τους  παλεύουν ως ενήλικες και κάθε βδομάδα τους μαθαίνουμε, λίγο-λίγο, πως να κερδίσουν πάλι πίσω την παιδική τους ηλικία. Μέσα από τις δραστηριότητες της ομάδας κάνουν βήματα για να νιώσουν ίσοι απέναντι στους συνομήλικους τους, για να νιώθουν ότι έχουν ευκαιρίες και επιλογές.
Για εμάς είναι μια δυνατή-ισότιμη ομάδα που τη στηρίζουμε με την ίδια ένταση, φροντίδα, και επαγγελματισμό όπως θα κάναμε και σε μία μή εθελοντική ομάδα. Γιατί τελικά μαζί με αυτά τα παιδιά βάλαμε ξανά στα όνειρα μας επικεφαλίδες..έτσι συνεχίζουμε την ομάδα μας και αυτή τη χρονιά με περισσότερα παιδιά και δημιουργικά αποτελέσματα..

When  we put together the Team of Creative Expression for the children of the Pedro Arrupe centre ( Centre for children from various countries with social economic problems), our aim was to showcase the abilities of these children and provide them with stimulation through the interactive game, the verbal and non verbal communication, in order for them to start to overcome their weaknesses and develop on a psycho-social level.

No, it's not easy…. Because these children in their daily lives, they fight like adults and each week we teach them, bit by bit, how to gain back their childhood. Through these team activities, they take steps to feel equal in front of their peers, to feel they have opportunities and choices. 

For us, it is a strong-equal team, that we support with the same intensity, care and professionalism, as we would do in a non-volunteer capacity. Because, ultimately, together with these children, we placed headlines back on their dreams… so we continue our team for the coming year too, with more children and creative results.

For some people, the street is their living space and

this is nothing new. Street work is an innovative

methodology of approaching vulnerable populations

who spend time in the street, working and living there.

This is a multi-faceted practice which requires specifi

c knowledge and skills from those who are available

and who are committed to this social and educational

work with vulnerable people. Street workers choose to

undertake outreach work, making themselves as easily

and simply accessible as possible. They try not to

reduce people to being victims (of poverty, social exclusion

or discrimination) to help them take a positive

approach to being responsible and using their skills.

The lack of institutional recognition of street work is

paradoxically combined with pressure from the institutions

on street workers to ensure their activities

achieve tangible results.
